The Mediterranean Museum Library is a reference and research library for archaeology, Egyptology, art history, cultural history and Islam with emphasis on the collections of the museum from the Mediterranean and West Asia regions. Around half of the museum's collection of books is on loan from the Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities. The total book collection consists of around 10,000 books.

The Mediterranean Museum Library book collection consists partly of the museum's own books and partly of books from the library of the Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities.

NB! Only books from the Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities are available for home lending. Other books are only available as reference literature.
